Young Money rapper, Lil Wayne is suing Universal Music Group, which is Cash Money’s distributor for withholding his royalties and that of the artistes that his label, Young Money helped build up. He claims that Universal gave an advance of $100 million to Cash Money and had been using his (Young Money) profits to repay the loan to itself. He is seeking $40 million in damages . This is also following another lawsuit Lil Wayne filed against Cash Money last year which is still pending, he is suing Cash Money for $51 million under the claims that the label owned by his adoptive dad, Baby, did not pay him what he is owed and also that of his Young Money artistes. PSquare’s Former Manager, Howie T, has revealed in a new chat with NetNg, the only thing that can end the bitter Psquare split, and make the brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye work together as a team again. The Nigerian pop duo, Psquare, has already gone their separate ways, flaunted different managements and released solo songs after a fallout involving their elder brother Jude Okoye on social media. In turn, their actions caused a lot of drama and left fans praying for Africa’s most beloved pop group. Thenet.ng held a phone conversation with Howie T and in it, Howie revealed Peter’s side of the story and the only condition for a Psquare reunite. Howie was Psquare’s first-ever manager after they won a Benson & Hedges talent hunt in 2001. He managed the duo from 2001 to 2005, before Jude Okoye took over as the band’s manager. Here are excerpts from his chat with Thenet.ng’s chief correspondent, Dayo Showemimo:

In 2013, the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer bought his first Lekki, Lagos, home, and he was just 23. Today, Wizkid, who gained global recognition after Canadian rapper Drake remixed ‘Ojuelegba’, has now bought a US home in yet-to-be-disclosed state, and shared the first photos on his Instagram page. “Crib so big I got no neighbors! ” The singer said in one photo, and in another, he added, “Living!” Other stars who have homes in the United States include the P-Square brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, and Davido.

American rapper, 50 Cent is leaving Instagram, or has left already. Hours ago, the rap guru took to the social media platform to slam the U.S. Courts following his claim that the dollar stacks he posted were fake. Recall that the G-Unit rapper was summoned by a U.S. bankruptcy court judge who believes he is dishonest with his claim of being bankrupt when his IG page is filled with photos of himself surrounded by cash. In court, the rapper’s lawyer claimed that the cash displayed were simply Prop Money – fake cash used mostly in music videos and films, that he was simply showing off as part of social media marketing. But the case could sink the rapper, Billboard reports, because there are rules about showing off fake money to avoid counterfeit issues. The law does not specify if it is acceptable to share fake money on social media, but it states clearly that the size of the money and the colour must be different from real cash.

Recall, earlier last week, reports swirled that technology giant Samsung was reportedly meeting with Jay Z to buy his Tidal music streaming service. Samsung has since come out and said it won’t be happening. “The rumor of Samsung acquiring Tidal is not true,” said Samsung spokesperson, breaking the company’s silence on the matter. This comes after months of reports about conversations between the two companies. Rumors about Samsung looking to acquire Tidal were first fueled by Tidal owner Jay Z stopping by Samsung’s campus to meet with the company’s executives last October. The New York Postreported last month that the two parties had picked up talks again. Jay Z acquired Tidal for $56 million a little over a year ago. The streaming service has been struggling with management and marketing issues following the acquisition; it appointed its third CEO in nine months in December, and fired its COO and CFO earlier this month.

Next generation network, Globacom, has dispelled the rumour making the rounds that the company is on the verge of dropping Peter and Paul Okoye, the music duo popularly called P-Square, as its ambassadors. P-Square Globacom said in a statement in Lagos, on Thursday that P-Square remained with the company as brand ambassadors. The telecom company disclosed that the annual review of its brand endorsement contracts was only just taking place and so could not have terminated its contract with PSquare. “We have not disengaged PSquare or any of our other ambassadors. We are currently in the process of reviewing our contracts with the brand ambassadors,” the statement said. The national carrier stated that PSquare had been among its flagship brand ambassadors since 2010, and that it had been a mutually rewarding relationship between the two parties.

Jay Z and Tidal are facing a class action lawsuit by Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele? from the band the American Dollar for not paying them royalties at all. According to the lawsuit (via the Jasmine Brand), Tidal streamed 116 of the band’s copyrighted songs without paying back any royalty payments in the process. Not only that, but the suit also claims Tidal used faulty numbers to make payments to artists and may have undercut the money they owed to artists by as much as 35 percent — since they don’t provide streaming stats to the public or artists themselves. To be honest — after all of the confusion surrounding Rihanna’s initial ‘Anti’ streaming/sales numbers via Tidal, this lawsuit might actually be on to something. In recent weeks, it’s been reported that both Spotify and Samsung have been in talks to buy Tidal from Jay Z. A representative for Tidal reached out to Mashable earlier today.
