LOS ANGELES: Pop star Chris Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday after a daylong standoff and search at his Los Angeles home that began when a woman called 911 in the predawn hours, police said. Brown, 27, denied any wrongdoing in posts on Instagram before he was taken into custody and said he had woken up to find police outside the property in the Tarzana neighborhood in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. "He is being transported to robbery homicide, where he will be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon," Lieutenant Chris Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department told reporters at an impromptu media conference outside Brown's home. Ramirez declined to elaborate on the charges against Brown, saying an investigation was still under way. Earlier TMZ.com and the Los Angeles Times reported that the singer had pointed a gun at the woman, who later left the property.

American Rapper Drake, fresh from his VMA kiss with Rihanna, will be releasing a short film called “Please Forgive Me.” which will come out on September 30th. The short film will have Nigerian singing sensation Wizkid and Kyla in it. The short film is supposed to increase the interest in Drake’s latest album “Views”, which has been tearing it up on the charts sitting at number 1 on the Billboard charts till it was usurped by the “Suicide Squad” soundtrack. There has so far been only one music video for the album and this short film is supposed to help ramp up the publicity. The new film project which will be co-directed by Anthony Mandler, features new music by Drake’s go-to producer Noah “40” Shebib and will include visuals for songs like “One Dance” and “Child’s Play”

New reports are in that top comedian Julius Agwu has been hospitalized in London. According to Goldymne, the 43-year-old was taken to the Lewisham hospital in London after experiencing a sudden relapse in a brain tumor treatment. The funny man was said to be in bad shape when he arrived in Dublin, Ireland for his Crack Ya Ribs show. Fans later raised concerns when Julius was noticeably absent at his London show on Sunday. He was however supported by Ali Baba and others who rallied round to cover up for his absence. New reports have just confirmed that the duo of Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg have been slapped with a lawsuit by fans who were injured at their New Jersey Tour early August. via TMZ : You’ll recall … at least 40 people were hurt — several had to be hospitalized — when the crowd barrier gave out without warning. One of the victims says he suffered a fractured spine. According to the suit, Snoop and Wiz yelled, “Everybody in the mother******* grass bring your ass down here” … right before the collapse. The plaintiffs say that call to action caused the stampede which lead to the collapse. Three of the plaintiffs were employees at the venue, BB&T Pavilion. Live Nation, which owns the venue, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. They say the company had made shoddy repairs on the railing in the last year. After the collapse, people fell roughly 10 feet onto the concrete below, and the show ended abruptly .

Davido may be embroiled in a dispute with the organisers of the just concluded Festival of India, Lagos. PUNCH reports that Davido, who was billed to perform at the festival last Saturday, was noticeably absent to the disappointment of guests and fans. Reports say guests were so upset the 23-year-old singer didn’t turn up, they began to complain that his performance at the show may have been a fluke. However, organisers of the much-anticipated Festival of India maintain that Davido had been booked for the show. The chief organiser of the festival, Bolaji Rosiji, also confirmed this. Davido was reportedly paid close to N7 million to perform at the festival but he is said to have cancelled a day to the event, stating that he was indisposed and couldn’t make it. The organisers of the show were said to have contacted Davido’s lawyers for a refund which has not been paid.

A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Tyga after failed to appear in court today. via TMZ : Kylie’s BF was a no-show in court Tuesday, where he was supposed to appear so lawyers for his former landlord could grill him about his finances. The landlord got a $480,000 judgment against the rapper who fell way behind on rent and left the Malibu home in shambles. Tyga hasn’t paid the judgment, so the landlord wants to know where Tyga’s hiding his assets. Attorneys for the landlord were in court today, explaining the landlord was upset over stories he saw that Tyga bought Kylie a $200,000 car for her birthday , which he claims is a fraudulent transfer of assets that should go to satisfy the judgment. Lil Wayne’s $20million suit against Universal Music Group (UMG) has been halted by a Federal Court Judge who ruled that the rapper should first settle his score with Cash Money Records boss, Birdman. In March, Wayne, through his Young Money Entertainment company, filed a lawsuit against UMG over claims that the record label cheated him out of royalties for his work with Nicki Minaj, Drake and Tyga. For Universal Music Group, the company ‘justifiably’ did not pay Wayne the said royalties because they had paid a $100million advance to the rapper’s parent label, Cash Money. On the other hand, in January 2015, Lil Wayne had filed a $50million lawsuit against Birdman and his Cash Money Records over claims that the record label cheated him in their agreement. That case has been long drawn out, and also speckled with life-threatening drama.

Nigerian superstar, Wizkid is having the time of his life at the ongoing Crop Over Festival in Rihanna’s country Barbados. Yesterday, the singer shared photos from the street procession in the Island country which is choked up with activities.
