Fox Working On New Season Of ‘Prison Break’
The one series that introduced most of us on this side of the pond to serialised television, Prison Break remains the king of all shows.
Which is why I believe this is great news.
Fox network has announced work is in progress for a new season of the highly popular show to return. Fox CEO Dana Walden told reporters at a Television Critics Association event.
The new series would star Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, reprising their original roles of half brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. Walden said also making a return would be everyone’s favourite T-Bag.
“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel, it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show,”
“The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience… It’ll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season.”
The biggest question would be how Michael would be alive after dying in the runup to the end of the show’s first run. Walden said there’ll be a plausible explanation for his return.
The show would be penned by original series creator Paul Scheuring. Production is expected to begin in the new year, with a view to a 2016/2017 air date for the ten episode series.
