Adele Sweeps Top Honours At The 2016 Brit Awards

Kendrick Lamar might have dominated the Grammy Awards to her detriment, but the Brit Awards is her turf, and Adele was unrivalled on the night

The ‘Hello’ hitmaker picked up four awards, including the awards for ‘Best British female solo artiste’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for ‘25’. Her four awards ties Blur’s haul from 1995- the most in the show’s history.

Other award winners on the night included bands One Direction and Coldplay; as well as wins for Justin Bieber and Bjork for best international male and female acts respectively.

Australian rock band Tame Impala picked up the best international group award, whilst Catfish and The Bottlemen were adjudged ‘Best Breakthrough Act’.

The night saw a David Bowie tribute, as well as Rihanna and Drake performing their latest hit, ‘Work’.

The 2016 edition of the Brit Awards was held at the O2 Arena in London on February 24, 2016.
