Nigerian Superstar and CEO to DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) is set to release his highly anticipated E.P 'Son Of Mercy' . The E.P is expected to be released on the 30th of September 2016. After an initial scheduled release date, the singer's team pushed the date forward for reasons unclear, but was reportedly gathered according to sources that Sony Music which Davido is signed to would rather not have two Nigeria-America collaborations hitting the world market on the same day, and competing against each other, speaking of the Wizkid collaboration with American singer Justin Skye 'You don't know'. The double EP as made known by Davido, is expected to contain seven tracks and spring some surprises according to the singer. Artistes such as Young Thug, Tinashe and Trey Songz are said to be featured on the project. The video for his collaboration 'How long' with Tinashe is also being expected.

Nigerian top music act 'Wizkid' lands a gobal record deal with Sony Music, after a bidding war between Universal Music and Sony Music, the only Two Major Distribution companies in the world, Wizkid has decided to go with the latter and just inked a global record deal with Sony Music in New York last Tuesday, September 13. According to sources, Wizkid will receive a 7 figure advance (in US Dollars) and sign to RCA Records who will handle his distribution deal in the United States.

Things are NOT looking too good for Tidal. According to reports, the company has “received about 100 payment default records” and its parent company Aspiro has posted a $28 million dollar loss in the year since Jay Z purchased the streaming service back in March 2015. via WSJ : Aspiro AB, the Swedish holding company that Jay Z and a group of other musicians bought in early 2015, recorded a net loss of 239 million Swedish kronor ($28 million) last year, according to a legal filing. That compared with a net loss of 88.9 million Swedish kronor in 2014. Over the same period, revenue rose 30% to 402 million Swedish kronor from 309 million kronor.
