Will The Constant Change Of Label & Management Affect Iyanya's Music Career?

Nigerian RnB star Iyanya peacefully exits Mavin Records owned by Music Mogul Don Jazzy.  The singer signed to Mavin Record in 2016 after exiting Made Men Music a Record label he co-owned. The news of his exit from co-owned label to join Mavin came as a surprise to the music industry and kept music lovers and fans wondering the reason for such decision.

In an interview with Premium Times, Iyanya claimed he joined Mavin Records because he believed in Don Jazzy and wanted someone that will help bring out another him. The singer felt he was going too commercial and abandoning the unique side of him (RnB) . He joined Mavin to get a new direction for his sound and artistry. Under Mavin Records he released the  'Signature' EP with  songs like Up To Something, Hold On and Bow For You.

The reason for his exit to join Temple Management completely is yet unknown but from logical analysis we feel Iyanya has a new direction for his career and probably his vision does not align with that  of Mavin Records.

The question now is 'Will the constant change of labels & Management affect the career of the singer?

For an established Artist like Iyanya change of Labels might slow down the entire process, because every Label and Management company has a vision and a working plan which is usually a short or long term plan. Planning takes a lot of energy and dedication especially in a music industry without a proper structure. This process also involves branding & marketing, strategic positioning, promotion of content, performances e.t.c. The fans indirectly involves in the entire process because they buy the music, follow the  Artist activities on social media and also follow the entire bonding process between the Artist and the label the artist is signed to. We have seen a lot of Artist become very irrelevant as soon as they exit a label which was more like a home to them, they keep dropping contents to stay relevant but still nothing is happening for them. We have also seen some other artist exit a label to become more famous. This things work in different ways depending on the Artist's star power.

The romance between Iyanya and Don Jazzy has ended, lets see what the singer is up to as he signs fully to Temple Management Company.
