Wizkid, MzVee, Cassper, Yemi Alade & other African Artist Nominated At BET 2016

Other nominated African artists includes: Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, Mzvee and Serge Beynaud.

The eight African artists will all compete in the Best International Act Africa category.

The 2016 BET Awards will take place at Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, 26 June. The awards will premiere across Africa on BET, channel 129 on DStv, on Tuesday, 28 June 2016 at 19:00.

“Now in its sixteenth year, the BET Awards continues to honour some of today’s biggest names in music and entertainment along with legends in the industry,” says Stephen Hill, BET’s president of programming. “The nominees this year represent an incredible array of artists and exceptional athletes who inspire their fans around the globe.”

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong got sent off in a Russian Premier League game after pointing his outstretched middle finger at the crowd with that beloved, universally The crowd, supporters of Spartak Moscow who were hosting Frimpong’s FC Ufa, had been directing monkey chants at the Ghanaian player. The Black Stars midfielder lost his cool and gestured at the crowd to f*ck off. He received a red card for his troubles.
