Singer Rita Ora Settles Lawsuit with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, Signs New Record Deal
New reports confirm that the 25-year-old British singer has finally reached an out of court settlement with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Recall that last year, Rita slammed Roc Nation with a lawsuit because the label hadn’t been releasing her music and also refuse to release her from her contract. The Poison singer, who joined Roc Nation in 2008 when she was only 18, released only one album since she got signed. Roc Nation had , in turn, filed a counter suit against the singer, claiming they had spent $2.4 million to promote her and wanted their money back.
Now, it appears the drama is officially over.
A new document filed on the New York Supreme Court’s website shows that Miss Ora and Jay Z have settled their suits out of court. Rita can now sign a different record deal and it looks like she may have already done so. The star hinted she might have already put pen to paper on a new recording contract via Snapchat. She shared two pieces of paper with two huge flower images covering their contents. Word on the block is her new record deal is with Warner Music.
Fans have shared their excitement on social media and are already anticipating the release of her long-awaited second album.
